This Privacy Policy explains how Alfa Dev (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the Limitly application (“Limitly”, the “App”) when you install or use it on your Shopify store. By installing or using Limitly, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who we are
Limitly is a purchase-rule engine for Shopify that lets merchants build IF/THEN rules to control quantity limits, cart blocks, tag targeting, scheduling, and related store behaviour. The App is developed and operated by Alfa Dev. You can reach us any time at support@alfasdevs.com.
2. Information we access and collect
When you install Limitly, Shopify grants the App access to specific parts of your store so it can function. Specifically, Limitly may access:
- Store & staff data — store owner and contributor details (such as name, store email, and store URL) used to identify and support your account.
- Products & collections — product, variant, and collection data needed to apply quantity limits, tag-based rules, and collection-wide rules.
- Online Store data — theme/storefront access required to display limit messages and enforce rules on cart and product pages.
- Rule configuration — the rules, limits, conditions, and settings you create inside the App.
- App usage & technical data — basic logs such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error reports, used to operate, secure, and improve the App.
Limitly does not request access to customer personal data, order payment details, or payment card information, and we do not collect that information.
3. How we use information
- To provide, configure, and run the App's rule-engine features on your store.
- To enforce the limits and conditions you define at cart and product pages.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To monitor performance, debug issues, and improve reliability and security.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Data sharing and sub-processors
We only share data where necessary to operate the App, and only with trusted service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations. These may include:
- Shopify — the platform the App runs on and the source of store data.
- Cloud hosting / infrastructure providers — used to host the App and store rule configuration securely.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request.
5. Data storage and security
We store rule configuration and the minimum data needed to run the App on secured servers, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted internal access — to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
6. Data retention
We retain your data only for as long as the App is installed and as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall Limitly, Shopify revokes the App's access, and we delete or anonymise the associated store data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it longer. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 8).
7. Cookies
The App's admin interface may use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. These are used solely to operate the App.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@alfasdevs.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Merchant responsibility
As the merchant, you are the data controller for your store. You are responsible for maintaining your own privacy policy and for obtaining any consents required from your customers in connection with how your store operates.
10. Children's privacy
Limitly is a business tool intended for store owners and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
